What do you do, day to day?


Business Partnering

  • You will drive the commercial agenda for the business unit working in partnership with Business Unit CEO, Company CEO’s and being a lead member of the Senior Management teams & Exec
  • Partner with the business unit CEO to develop and roll out the strategic objectives for the pillar
  • Own responsibility for the price setting strategy, client rates, business models and work to support client facing teams in the realisation of the best commercial terms achievable.
  • Work with department heads and management teams on the most efficient use of resources, staffing decisions & approvals, freelance resource approvals, cross agency collaboration, approval of client fees, all with the aim of sustainable ongoing improvements in key operating metrics.
  • To work with management teams to help prioritise competing investment choices.
  • To coach client facing teams on best practice in fee setting, financial project management, procurement negotiations and embed a collective sense of ownership of the commercial performance of the business unit.
  • To work with new business teams to bring a strategic approach to new business investments and ensuring they deliver return on investment
  • Responsibility for all procurement led negotiations regarding client rates and contract negotiations

Business planning, reporting

  • Maintain real time forecast for likely performance of business, assessment of revenue risks and opportunities and any cost variances.
  • Define management information strategy for business unit and oversea delivery of relevant and timely MI to key stakeholders alongside insights that help drive business performance (client & project profitability , servicing and  employee utilisation)
  • Own the process of preparing and submitting required group forecasts and budgets.
  • Reporting of monthly financial performance for business unit and oversight of agency specific balance sheet accounts.
  • Ensure revenue to cash process is efficiently managed through invoicing, WIP management and cash collections to drive strong working capital controls.


Team Development

  • Encourage the development of a team to support the above goals in an efficient and effective manger.
  • Ensure that team members develop a sufficiently rounded skill set to be able to move to the next role within the group.
